On his Facebook page, Zoologist Vasil Ananyan is beating an alarm signal about the pollution of storks in Yeraskhahun Community. "It's the same problem last year in many parts of the world," he captioned the photos. Some of the citizens who responded to the publication noted that dirty storks have been observed in both Armash and Hovtashen communities in Ararat region these days.

In 2019 in several communities in Ararat region, storks have declined due to the contamination of bird feathers with greasy paste. The Water Committee said that the reason for the pollution of storks in Ararat region was the greasy waste of fish farms.

Nine-month-long Investigation Ended in Nothing

In 2019 RA Investigative Committee, in order to find out the reasons for the pollution of the storks, instigated a criminal case in September. After a nine-month-long investigation, the Investigative Committee told the Hetq that it could not find out where, when and under what circumstances the stork feathers had been contaminated, what group the material on the feathers belonged to, and based on the absence of an element of the crime, the proceedings of the criminal case was stopped.
