On 3 February an alarm signal was beaten on the 'Hetq' news website that trees were being felled down in front of Congress hotel in Yerevan.
'Under the relevant professional opinion, dry and old trees were cut down in the park located in the middle part of Italy and Beyrut Streets in the capital in the frames of renovation works. At the same time, we would like to inform that it is planned to plant four times as many new and high-value trees as it used to be in the frames of improvement works, which will be in harmony with the park improvement,' the press release of the Municipality says.
