Armenia can take part in the negotiations on Paris Agreement on Climate Change only as an observer, but still Armenia won’t have right to vote in decision-making process, as Aram Gabrielyan, Climate Change Framework Convention National Focal Point, told EcoLur during “Towards Marrakech- Armenia on the eve of the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) of the Convention of Climate Change” organized by “Khazer” NGO.
“It’s not a tragedy and it doesn’t refer to Armenia only. The ratification process proceeded so quickly so that many countries didn’t manage to ratify the agreement,” Aram Gabrielyan said and added that Armenia will get the right to vote when the agreement will be ratified.
The Paris Agreement will enter into force on 4 November 2016 for those countries, which have ratified the agreement. The procedure of organization and implementation of the agreement ratification by Armenia is carried out by Foreign Affairs Ministry.
