Residents of Optimized Jermuk Community Started Collecting Signatures To Make Jermuk Environmental and Economic Area

It's already several days since a signature collection under a public petition has been carried out in Jermuk optimized community, Vayots Dzor Region, and in Yerevan to make Jermuk an environmental and economic area and to stop mining industry. The signature collection is aimed against the implementation of Amulsar project.

As Armenian Environmental Front civic initiative member Levo Galstyan said a large number of people have already taken part in the signature collection. 'The public petition will be submitted to the government of the Republic of Armenia and Head of Jermuk optimized community,' Levon Galstyan said.

Citizens registered in Jermuk, Kechout, Gndevaz, Herher and Karmrashen residential areas and aged over 14 can take part in the signature collection.

Reminder: For already 5 months, the residents of Jermuk optimized community and environmental activists have been blocking the roads leading to the infrastructures of Amulsar project and demanding not to develop Amulsar gold-bearing quartzite mine.
