In 2018 RA Nature Protection Ministry will introduce automated management system into Ararat Valley to monitor the water use of the artesian basin by the fish farms in Ararat Valley.

'This year our main activities will be focused on the introduction of automated management system in all deep wells. The first stage will be valid for fish farms. The competition has been held and soon we will have a centralized system at the ministry, which will gather information from all available sources and will enable to monitor all the spots, where the equipment is installed,' Deputy Nature Protection Minister Khachik Hakobyan said at the press conference held at Armenpress Press Hall on 7 February. He mentioned that as a result of their cooperation with the UNDP 50 flow-meters will be installed in large fish farms in 2018: 'It will enable to clearly record water usage volumes with time unit precision, which will, in its turn, lead to management effectiveness,' Khachik Hakobyan said.
