On May the elections to the Aldermen's Council of Yerevan will be held with the participation of three political powers - Yelq Alliance, 'Yerkir Tsirani' Party and Republican Party of Armenia.
EcoLur is presenting the environmental components of the election campaigns of the political parties taking part in the elections. This publication shows the environmental promises given by 'Yelq' Alliance, which is number 1 in the ballots.
In case of being elected, 'Yelq' Alliance is promising to plant 500,000 trees in the capital and around it during the upcoming 5 years. The project on green roofs will start its implementation. 'Yelq' Alliance is also focusing on the problem of garbage collection promising to construct a new garbage landfill complying with environmental standards and to create garbage recycling production.
In case of a victory, the alliance is promising to establish an urban forest near the conditions of natural forests aiming to make it a rest zone.
The candidate for Mayor's Office from 'Yelq' Alliance is Nikol Pashinyan, MP and Member of 'Civil Contract' Party Governance Board.
