Today, on 3 September, one year has passed since Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated that Armenia would join the Custom Union, i.e. factual refusal from Eurointegration and shift in the political course of Armenia. The public marked this day with a protest demonstration.

Around 100 young people gathered at Freedom Square in Yerevan and moved to the president seat at 26 Baghramyan Avenue to state about their disagreement with the policy run by the president.

EcoLur joined the participants of the protest demonstration at the moment when two of them were crossing the street and approaching the building of the president’s seat with two small posters in their hands: one of them said "Putler Kaput”, the other said - “No Putin, No Cry”.

The police wanted to push them aside from the building, but they calmly insisted they wanted to stand there so as people could see and hear them.

“This is a fatal question for Armenia and all of us. It’s important for us that each citizen expresses his/her position on this issue. Each must say what their attitude is, both a policeman and a public official, all must express their opinions to understand where we go and what we want,” said Hambardzumyan Vardan in his interview with EcoLur, when he approached the president’s seat. In reply to the question about few people gathered, Vardan replied, “Policemen are more than us. Complete indifference. All people have their own problems, people don’t have time to focus on global problems, Though this issue us the most important one.”
