On 14 June Ashot Manukyan, Minister for Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, had a meeting with the US Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills, where the investment programs in the sector of energy have been discussed. The US Ambassador has particularly been presented the projects of 'Shnogh' hydropower station and the construction of a thermal station for electricity production based on household garbage processing in Hrazdan. 'Shnogh' HPP is planned to be constructed on the Debed river. The estimated capacity of the station is 76 MW, and according to initial assessments, investment will account for around US $ 150 million.
What about the construction of a thermal station for electricity production based on household garbage processing in Hrazdan, the Minister outlined its both economic and social significance, especially in terms of creating new working places. The Ambassador expressed his willingness to present these projects to the American companies.
