On 16 November the Armenian Government approved granting tax and customs privileges for the implementation of the investment project of 'Yerevan Thermal Power Plant' CJSC. In the frames of the project, it's planned to re-equip 'Yerevan Thermal Power Plant' CJSC with the combined thermogas power unit. The company is going to purchase equipment costing over 10.7 billion AMD and with the governmental resolution, the deadline for paying VAT was postponed for three years, while the equipment was exempt from import duty.
As a result of the re-equipment, the station capacity will increase by 7 MW, turning 227 MW our of 220 MW, will reduce the specific cost of the fuel – 258.1 g/kwph out of 252.8 g/kwph, while the energy conversion efficiency will increase by 1%.
It's mentioned that around 20 working places will be added due to the implementation of this investment project.
