For the purpose of supplying thermal energy to the communities in Armenia not having gas supply RA Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources is considering a number of alternative versions, such as solar photovoltaic panels and water heaters, pellet boilers or stoves.
According to Hayk Badalyan, Head of Energy Department of RA Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, upon Premiere's assignment, currently estimates are carried out for each community in regard to both gas supply expenses and possibilities of applying alternative versions: only after the accomplishment of these estimates it will be possible to value an option, which will be mutually beneficial.
It's planned to propose a certain proposal for each community by 1 July 2017.
Reminder: 329 communities in Armenia are not supplied with gas, it's about 150,000 people or 5% of the population.
