"MEGA ENERGY" LLC plans to build a solar photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 8.4 MW in the administrative area of Shoghakat settlement of Chambarak community, Gegharkunik Region. On July 20, 2023, at 14:00, the second public discussion on the preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) application for the construction of the solar photovoltaic power plant submitted by the company will take place at the residence of the administrative head of the Shoghakat settlement. It will occupy an area of 12.39266 hectares.
In accordance with Decision 80-A of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of March 17, 2023, "MEGA ENERGY" LLC was granted an electricity production license LE№0722 for the period of validity until March 18, 2045.
For the operation of the station, the company also plans to build 2 transformer substations of 110/0.8/0.8 KV and a 110 KV overhead line for its power supply. 17,810 photovoltaic double-sided panels with a capacity of 565 W were selected for the plant. During the first year of the plant, the projected production of electricity will be ≈16,500 MWh.
Damaged panels and other damaged parts will also occur during operation of the solar plant. The company plans to build a 6x3 m metal caravan for the temporary storage of solar waste in its territory. According to the application, the imported panels of the solar plant have a 10-year warranty, according to which the out-of-order or damaged panels will be returned to the manufacturer for replacement.
In the rest of the period, the out-of-service panels will be accumulated in the warehouse until the creation of opportunities for their export or their processing in the Republic of Armenia.
The construction works of the construction of the station will last 2 years, 35 people will be involved, 4-6 workers will be involved in monitoring during the operation phase.
