EcoLur has released a compelling new video titled “Women Who Are Changing Armenia,” showcasing inspiring stories of female beneficiaries from the “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” (LILA) project. These women are leading powerful transformations in their communities-proving that local change is possible through vision, perseverance, and action.
The video highlights women who not only challenge societal stereotypes but also actively reshape the rural landscapes of Armenia. They are launching businesses, promoting eco-tourism, reviving ancient traditions, and leading their communities toward a greener, more sustainable future.
Arus Nersisyan protects wild nature and leads the community-based “Arpa” Environmental Foundation. Tatevik Gabrielyan produces sun-kissed Kria wines in Vernashen. Mariam Simonyan has opened the Sheram Restaurant in Areni, blending local flavors with hospitality. In Dsegh, Manik and Mariam Yeghanyan have turned wild herb gathering into a thriving tea brand-Loreni.
This is a story of women rooted in their heritage yet boldly walking into the future-believing in their power, their potential, and their communities.
The video was produced within the framework of “Living Landscapes for Market Development in Armenia” (LILA) project, funded by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and implemented by WWF-Armenia in partnership with the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO.
