Based on the facts of concealing the real volumes of illegal tree felling for bribers, new cases of abuses have been detected by the Special Criminal Investigative Committee of Armenia, which has been committed by the official in a multi-episode criminal case. The obtained evidence proved that Vasil Chilingaryan, Director of “Noyemberyan Forestry Enterprise” Branch of “ArmForest” SNCO, based on his own interests and abusing his office, made the officials conducting examinations in his forestry enterprise commit a fraud, i.e. reduce the real volume of illegally cut down trees and extent of damage caused, which has caused damage to this governmental organization and state.
Vasil Chilingaryan has been charged with Article 308 and Article 314 (1) of RA Criminal Code. In the course of the preliminary investigation, a total of 22 people have been involved in this criminal case as accused, including ex official of State Environmental Inspection of RA Nature Protection Ministry, employees of “ArmForest” SNCO, including directors, forestry enterprise heads and foresters. Out of them, 7 people have been detained, two people are wanted, as Special Criminal Investigative Committee of Armenia informs.
