Nature Protection Ministry Explaining: Trees Felled Down in Dilijan National Park

Recently there are two alarm signals on Facebook social network on the tree felling in Dilijan National Park. The first alarm signal is beaten by Tigran Shahbazyan, who posted photos, while the second alarm signal is beaten by Armenian Environmental Front.

The Nature Protection Ministry informed EcoLur that the employees of the national park detected 12 felled down trees after the first alarm signal.

'According to the clarfication received from Dilijan National Park, 12 trees of different species and diameter were detected felled down in Haghartsin section on 27 March 2017. Relevant forest violation protocols were drawn up, which will be sent to Tavush Territorial Division of State Environmental Inspection. In the same area there are 12 formerly registered stubs, about which relevant forest violation protocols had already been drawn up and sent to Tavush Territorial Division of State Environmental Inspection,' Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry informs.

What about the second alarm signal, the Ministry said that the employees of the national park are currently working in the area to find out whether the trees had been illegally cut down or there were fallen with wind and later cut down.
