A criminal case has been initiated based on the illegal tree felling held in the valley of Paghjur River. Reminder: in November 2014 Levon Galstyan, a member of Pan-Armenian Environmental Front and environmentalist Gor Hovhannisyan beat an alarm signal about the illegal tree felling. It should be mentioned that at that time the representative of “ArmForest” SNCO announced that 12 trees had been illegally cut down in the given area. An investigation was held in January in “Lastiver” and “Ijevan Forestry Enterprise” areas, the trees were inventoried and a protocol was drawn up.

“Besides earlier detected 12 illegally cut down trees, over 30 trees had been detected cut down 2-3  years ago and many other trees cut down over three years ago, which were all illegal,” Levon Galstyan said in his interview with EcoLur.
