Tumanyan Policemen Detected Illegal Tree Felling Cases

As the official website of the Armenian Police informs, the policemen of Tumanyan Division checked the car driven by Ashot A., born in 1969, loaded with around 5 cum of timber with the suspicion of transporting illegal timber for the purpose of prevent environmental crimes on the road near the area called 'Jaghatsner' in Dsegh Village at 14:30 on 13 April.

Ashot A. didn't provide any relevant document for the timber and said that the timber belongs to him, which he cut in the forest adjacent to Yeghegnut Village, Lori Region, from different falling trees.

Policemen of Tumanyan Division checked the car driven by Arman H., born in 1991, loaded with around 5 cum of timber in the area called 'Iqatak' in Martz Village at 22:10 on 13 April. Arman H. didn't provide any relevant document for the timber and said that the timber belongs to his father, which he illegally obtained by cutting down one wind-fallen tree in the area called 'Iqatak' in Martz Village from 10 to 13 April.

At 22:55, policemen of Tumanyan Division detained the car driven by Sos M., born in 1983, in the area called 'Iqatak' in Martz Village loaded with around 3 cum of timber. Sos M. didn't provide any relevant document for the timber and said that the timber belongs to his fellow villager, who legally obtained by by cutting down one wind-fallen and one standing tree in the area called 'Iqatak' in Martz Village.

The cars loaded with timber were transferred to the specially protected area of Tumanyan Division of Police. Professional inspections are appointed: the extent of damage is being clarified and materials are being prepared.
