On 16 November EcoLur published an article were Achajur Villager expressed his concern with the loss of water resources because of forest felling around them. He also said that everything is controlled by just one department, where 'they both plan, and fall down and sell', so the forest is eliminated 'ruthlessly.'
The next day EcoLur started receiving from Achajur where people informed that 'pressure is exercised from Yerevan on the forestry enterprise and prosecutor's office.'
We would like to specify that our publication doesn't concern to a certain case, but to poor policy in forest sector. That policy is poor is obvious not only to specialists, but to rural residents, who feel its consequences and watch heavy perspectives for its further implementation. It is also evident that instead of improving this policy, state bodies adopt unilinear decisions, i.e. 'if there is an alarm signal, we will send you to the prosecutor's office, and you will know what it means to complain.' We would like to mention about another worrying tendency. We have already published that heads of the State Center for Forest Monitoring were displaced, who dared to declare justice about forest-covered territories and the factual volumes of illegal felling.
