Around 80% of the land areas burnt down in a large fire in 'Khosrov Forest' State Reserve has recovered, as Reserve Director Hrachya Hovakimyan told the journalists during their visit to Khosrov Reserve dedicated to World Environment Day. 'Without any human intervention, nature is able to recover itself. Only junipers didn't recover in the area of 2200 ha, as they had been burnt down completely and recover late – during 30 years. Human intervention is not allowed due to the reserve regime. If we see we can't recover whatever has been lost in a natural way, we will do it in a scientific way. But we hope it won't be needed. Such a fire occurred in the 1970s when the junipers were burnt down, but now there is a juniper forest in this area,' Hrachya Hovakimyan said.
