Environmental Impact Assessment Report on Amendment to Shahumyan Gold-Polymetallic Technical Project of Chaarat Kapan CJSC has received a positive statement.
The report states that there is no need for large-scale logging due to the storage facility, the possible relocation of small seedlings, the planting of about 200 evergreen trees at the edge of the dump.
As a result of the planned activities, 1.3058 g/s and 41.15 t/year total inorganic dust will be released from the waste rock storage area. According to the conclusion, the concentrations are within the established norms.
It is noted that the ore dressing plant operates entirely on a circular system and no production water leaks from the Geghanush tailing dump.
As a result of the reconstruction, no quantitative increases in water use and sanitation are planned.
