Human Rights Day is celebrated annually across the world on 10 December every year. The date was chosen to honour the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation, on 10 December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The declaration for the first time outlined the fundamental human rights, which shall be protected in all the countries and by all the states.
EcoLur has carried out studies to what extent the fundamental human rights are protected: to health and living in healthy environment, right to clean air, soil, water, right to property, access to natural resources and sustainable use, right to have an easy access to participate in decision-making process and right to choose the type of self-employment.
Particularly, the residents of Lori, Kotayq, Vayots Dzor Regions mentioned in their interviews with EcoLur what kind of fundamental human rights have been violated.
