Lydian Armenia Asked Court To Confiscate 1 Million AMD from Environmentalist Levon Galstyan

'Lydian Armenia' CJSC, the developer of Amulsar gold mining project, has sued Levon Galstyan, a member of Armenian Environmental Front. The lawsuit has been filed to Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction. The lawsuit says that on 13 July 2018, Levon Galstyan gave an interview to civilnet.am website where he presented ' a number of data on the company not complying with the reality and discrediting the business reputation of the company', which was later shared on his personal FB page and the Facebook page of the Armenian Environmental Front.

'The offshore mining pirates have sues me as if I have defamed them. They are demanding from the court to obligate me to deny this information, to pay their court fees and to confiscate 1 million AMD in favor of Lydia Armenia... They have also sued other people – Jermuk residents, environmentalists, and active citizens, who are fighting to save Amulsar,' Levon Galstyan posted on Facebook.

The court hearing has been appointed at 10:30 on  21 December at First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan City (Hall 3, Tigran Mets 23/1).
