On February 25, 2020, a public demand campaign was held in the village of Mets Ayrum, Lori Region, in support of the Danielyans family living near Nahatak tailing dump. The purpose of this campaign was to help the family get compensation for the damages caused by Nahatak tailing dump.

The campaign was organized by the Community Mobilization and Support Center NGO and members of “SOS Mets Ayrum” campaign.

The representative of the Danielyans, Harutyun Danielyan, stated that Akhtala OPC is ready to provide compensation for the apartment and the family will be able to obtain another apartment in the same village, which is relatively far from the tailing dump. Gagik Shahnazaryan, representative of Akhtala OPC, confirmed this information.

Oleg Dulgaryan noted that both the Danielyans and other families face health problems. Rosa Julhakyan, an expert at Ecolur Informational NGO, emphasized that Nahatak tailing dump should be reclaimed as soon as possible and find innovative variants of tail processing.
