Alarm Signal: Debed River Tributary Again Got Yellow-Brownish Colour

Tributary of the Debed River turned yellow-brown again after another heavy rain in Alaverdi town, Lori Region. On August 2, Oleg Dulgaryan, President of Community Mobilization and Support Center NGO, raised the issue and posted on his Facebook page: "The Debed River is constantly being polluted from the landfill near Aramyants Castle, from Nahatak Tailing Dump.

Another pollutant is the tributary to the Debed, which descends from Madan, where there are old pits, moreover, a drainage process takes place. "After every rain, it becomes more active here. The yellow waters get mixed with Debed, fill it with heavy metals, direct it to the irrigation system and agricultural land areas," Oleg Dulgaryan said in the video posted by him.
