The Nature Protection Ministry didn’t deal with the environmental state of Tukhmanuk mine and adjacent settlements. Aparan Aarhus Center Coordinator Natalya Manukyan made an enquiry to the Ministry about the environmental state of air basin of Tukhmanuk gold mine and its adjacent territories – Meliq and Miraq communities, as well as its dynamics within recent three years. The Aarhus Center also made an enquiry about the ecological state of the Qasagh River, Halavar reservoir, flora and fauna of that particular area and about their dynamics within recent three years. In reply, Arthur Gevorgyan, Director of “Environmental Impact Monitoring Center” SCNO of Nature Protection Ministry, informed that “no monitoring is carried over Tukhmanuk mine and its adjacent settlement”. A. Gevorgyan has provided the Aarhus Center monitoring data on the waters of Qasagh River for recent three years.
