Sending Shekaghbyur Mining project to supplementing and amendments equals to not having a positive opinion: as RA Nature Protection Minister told EcoLur at the final press conference for 2017. 'We have sent it for supplementing and amendments, which equals to not having any positive opinion, which won't be available unless all the procedure is performed in line with the law: public hearings, questions raised during public hearings and exhaustive replies to them and minimum environmental impact based on these answers. We are guided by the law,' the Minister said.
Reminder: 'Miram' LLC wants to prospect polymetals in Shekaghbyur mine area, Lori Region. The company's public hearings haven't been held twice because of the local residents' boycotts. RA Nature Protection Ministry has twice returned the company project for supplementing and amendments.
Referring to the question whether the opinions of project-affected communities are not sufficient to reject the project, the minister said, 'No, at first sight, the ground should be the viewpoints of the people having expressed negatively, but, in this case, we shall measurement indicators. Unfortunately, we don't have measurement indicators now.'
