Vallex Group member "Mountain Metallurgical Institute" CJSC intends to hold a public discussion in the town of Berd, Tavush Region, on October 26, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in order to carry out geological prospecting in Tavush-Khandzorut mineral field.
The information disseminated about the public discussion does not specify what metals the company claims to search for.
There is no data on Tavush-Khandzorut mineral field in "Republican Geological Fund", but there is information on Movses lead and zinc mine in the territory of Berd community.
According to the report entitled "Mineral and petrographic researches of ores and rocks of Movses lead zinc mine in Shamshadin region of Armenian SSR", Movses mine is located 18 km from the city of Berd. Movses, Norashen, Verin Karmiraghbyur settlements are located nearby.
The deposit has been thoroughly described in various scientific and research publications and is characterized as a lead and zinc deposit saturated with iron oxides and magnesium.
