The entire river has been polluted again. Arshavir Khalapyan, President of National Anti-Corruption Bureau, a human rights activist, has released a video showing a gray liquid stream flowing across the Voghji River. “The residents of Halidzor district informed me about this situation about two hours ago. This is not natural contamination,” Arshavir Khalapyan said in a telephone interview with Ecolur. He speculates that the pollution of the river is the result of another accident at the tailing dump of Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine.

As EcoLur was told by the RA Environmental and Mining Inspection, they are aware of the alarm and the inspection staff is conducting an on-site investigation with the police.

Reminder on October 17, 2019, as a result of the accident of the tails pipe of Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine, the Voghji River was polluted with industrial waste.  Syunik Regional Prosecutor's Office instigated a criminal case.
