Nature Protection and Mining Inspection has found out where the polluted waters flowed into the Chqnagh River.

Reminder: on July 8, 2020, Stepanavan Community Administration beat an alarm signal that the water contaminated with heavy metals and acid drainage coming out of the territory of the Armanis gold-polymetallic mine flew into the Dzoraget giving a brown color to the river.

Inspectors carried out an onsite inspection to find out that the water had leaked from an underground mine built in the 1950s and had flown into Chqnagh tributary of the Dzoraget River. "Water sampling has been carried out for analytical research," the inspection body says in its statement.
