Protest Demonstrations Postponed in Litchq Mine Area After Armenian PM's Call

Taking into consideration newly-elect PM Nikol Pashinyan’s call and the political situation in Armenia, the protest demonstration in Litchq mine area is postponed for the non-fixed time period, as “Mine or Life?” initiative group has announced according to the MeghriNews website.

“We all do realize that the solution of this problem is very important for all Meghri residents, nevertheless, we realize that the newly formed government needs to be given some time. We are calling for all the members of the Aldermen’s Council of Meghri Community to use the powers they are granted with the law on self-government to solve this problem,” the announcement disseminated by as “Mine or Life?” the initiative group says.

Nevertheless, the signature collection of Meghri community residents against Litchq mine and operation of new mines addressed to Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan is still in progress.
