Whether soil management companies have performed the resolution of the Armenian Government and have performed the environmental monitoring reports? In this report, ‘EcoLur’ Informational NGO has sent an enquiry to RA Nature Protection Ministry, which says, ‘On 22 February 2018, the Armenian Government adopted resolution № 191-N ‘On Approving Requirements of Implementing Planned Monitoring for Purpose of Reducing Environmental Losses Because of Soil Management, Prevention of Irreversible Impact, As Well As on Approving Procedure for Submitting Reports on Findings’. According to this resolution, metallic mine developing soil managers shall introduce a system of monitoring of the environment – groundwater and surface water, atmospheric air, soil cover, wildlife, natural habitat, red-listed plant, and animal species. The companies are obliged to submit a quarterly and annual report on the findings to RA Nature Protection Ministry. The same resolution assigns the ministry to publish these reports on their website.
Taking into consideration the aforementioned and guided by RA Law on Information Freedom, we would like to ask to provide information on the performance of the requirements of the governmental resolution – the list of the companies having submitted reports so far, as well as the actions of the ministry taken against the companies having not performed the requirements of the resolution.”
