The Armenian authorities are running negotiations with Russia on the probable participation of Russia in the construction of the new nuclear power plant, as RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan informed the RIA Novosti.
“Our energetic system is based on three pillars: nuclear energy, thermal energy and hydropower. The shared from three sources are almost equal. We don’t want to refuse from nuclear energy. Currently, we are considering the opportunities of constructing a new power plant, when the Metsamor NPP will be closed down. We are discussing the matter of Russia’s probable participation together with the Russian partners. The negotiations are in progress,” Tigran Avinyan said.
