- What are certain lessons that Armenia can take from Fukushima?
- “In my opinion, the first lesson was when Armenia reached a right decision in selecting the reactor type. The fact is that Metsamor and Fukushima nuclear power plants are diametrally opposite nuclear power plants. “BBP” type reactors which are used in Armenia, proved their serious advantages in contrast to the reactors used in Fukushima plant,” said UNDP Energy National Expert, Noravanq Foundation Specialist Ara Marjanyan.
- What about the nuclear power plant particularly, how you would assess the qualifications and knowledge of our specialists?
- Rather high. Thanks to God, there are certain traditions maintained. Besides the nuclear power plant itself, there is nuclear energy research institute which also has quite serious personnel potential.
