Armenia and Russia Will Work Together To Prolong Service Term of ANPP Power Unit 2

Armenia and Russia will work together to prolong the service of ANPP power unit 2. On 19 November the executive approved the proposal of the agreement on prolonging the service of the second power unit of Armenian Nuclear Power Plant between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation. Under the agreement, the competent body for the implementation of the Agreement from Armenian side is Energy and Natural Resources Ministry and “Rusatom” State Corporation of Nuclear Energy from the Russian side.

Under the Agreement, the parties will sign a framework agreement, which will also specify the terms of prolonging the service of the second power unit of ANPP.

Reminder: Under the Armenian governmental resolution, the deadline for the service of the second power unit of ANPP was set 2016.
