ANPP To Be Rehabilitated in 2017

“The reconstruction of the Armenian NPP will begin in the spring of 2017 and will last for about six months, which will enable to prolong the operation service of the nuclear power plant till 2026,” Energy and Natural Resources Minister Yervand Zakaryan said. “We have precise obligations, which are committed to perform and to organize works so as to be able to stop the operation of the ANPP in the spring of 2017 without any obstacles. These works will be mainly carried out by “Rusatom Service” CJSC,” the minister said.

Reminder: on 5 February the agreement on providing a loan to the Armenian Government for funding ANPP operation prolongation was signed, which says that the Russian party will allot 270 million USD of privilege loan and 3 million USD of grant. All the funds will be directed to prolong the life service of the power unit at ANPP.
