The price of the electricity produced by the ANPP will be increased to pay off the loan of US$ 270 million taken from Russia for the lifetime extension of the second power unit of the ANPP.
The Public Service Regulatory Committee set that the pay-off the loaning project implemented for the lifetime extension of the second power unit of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant CJSC will be ensured through including service and maturity expenses in the production tariff of the electricity in line with the provisions set in the sub-loaning agreement.
ANPP Director Movses Vardanyan said in his interview with the Armenpress that he still can’t say how much the tariff will make up, but they have submitted an application to raise the tariff to pay off investments. The matter of the change in the tariff will arise when loan repayment process will start – not earlier than 2020. Vardanyan also informed that the sale of the electricity produced by the ANPP (supply to electric networks) makes up 9.03 AMD kph without VAT since 1 February 2018.
