On June 8, at the meeting of the Cabinet Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan asked RA Minister for Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Arthur Grigoryan about the results of the studies on the electricity prices. Minister Grigoryan mentioned that currently there a number of risks related to reviewing the electricity price which must be taken into consideration. It is the first time in history when the nuclear power plant is stopped with this procedure and extension works are carried out. There are also risks related to the gas price. Nevertheless, it is possible to make changes of price for insecure families, the number of which is 110,000-120,000. These figures are initial ones. Together with the Ministry of Employment and Social Affairs and Electric Networks of Armenia, we will specify the final figure. Our estimates show that we are able to reduce the electricity price for insecure families by 10 AMD. Second, our negotiations with Electric Networks of Armenia as represented by the owner of 'Tashir' Group resulted in the arrangement that the price will directly be reduced by 10 AMD at the expense of their profit.
