“Islamic State” terrorist group may have nuclear attack in the Post-Sovie area – Armenia, Ukraine or Moldova. “The most hazardous points are in Metsamor and NKR, where nuclear attacks may lead to real humanitarian and environmental disasters,” French Geopolitics Expert Ilan Scialom writes in his article published in the Le Huffington Post.

According to him, nuclear threat increases together with the expansion of the ISIS. “Worrying tendency” is that objects of strategic significance are more often targeted for terrorism acts.

In this context, the weak protection of the nuclear power plants in the states of the ex USSR, especially in Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia, makes them one of the targets for the potential attacks of the ISIS…Most worrying is the nuclear power plant in Metsamor, Armenia. It’s not only terrorist threat, but also the zone here is seismically active and there are no cooling systems for overheating of nuclear reactor. Besides, radioactive wastes are stored in the area of Nagorno Karabagh.
