The funds designed for the needs of Kapan Forestry Enterprise and Syunik region residents have been spent not in a targeted manner. A criminal case has been instigated. As the Public Relations Department of RA Prosecutor’s Office informs that the wide-scale examinations carried out in “ArmForest” SNCO showed that under the donation agreement signed on 23 January 2018, “Support to Preserved Areas” office of RA Nature Protection Ministry allotted 106,192,800 AMD to “ArmForest” SNCO. The money has been allotted for the purpose of acquiring a tractor, a sawmill, a device designed for crushing firewood, charcoal workshop, a dryer, “UAZ Patriot”, “UAZ Patriot Pickup,” and “UAZ Hunter” cars and handing them directly to Kapan Forestry enterprise.

Nevertheless, upon the proposal of the SNCO, the agreement has been amended and instead of acquiring a tractor and charcoal workshop and a “UAZ Patriot” car, under the contract signed on 27 September 2018 a Toyota LC Prado Business G car was acquired at a price of 27,700,000 AMD which, after two months, was handed to Acting Head of Forest Committee for term of 5 years for gratis use.

Based on this case, Chief Prosecutor at Department of Protection of State Interests of RA Chief Prosecutor’s Office instigated a criminal case based on Article 308(1) and Article 315(1) of RA Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation has been assigned to RA Criminal Committee.

Notice: Every person suspected in or charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent unless proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code and unless the verdict comes into legal force.
