The investigation of RA Prosecutor General's Office revealed that a total of 13 criminal cases have been initiated and are currently being investigated for the period of 2018-2019 in the sphere of activity of water users companies. The latter relate to Ararat, Artashat, Talin, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Lori, Martuni, Shenik, Yerevan, Ejmiatsin and Armavir WUCs operating in Lori, Shirak, Kotayk, Armavir, Ararat, Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik Regions.
Corruption schemes have been in place for years with the involvement of WUCs, which have falsified water use services, water supplies, damages data, and embezzled subsidies from the state budget. The total damage caused to the state amounted to 5.7 billion drams.
