Within the framework of “Green Agenda for Armenia” project, funded by the Government of Sweden, work is underway to develop a draft law on chemical substances.
The development process, main directions, and expected outcomes of the draft law were discussed by Deputy Minister of Environment Ara Mkrtchyan, Director of the AUA Acopian Center for the Environment Alen Amirkhanyan, and representatives of the “Green Agenda for Armenia” program.
Ara Mkrtchyan emphasized that the new law should become one of the main pillars of Armenia’s chemical safety system.
It was noted that the development of the draft law will ensure broad public and professional discussions, so that the document comprehensively reflects the needs of the sector and its stakeholders.
