On July 23, at 14:30, we received information an explosion took place in the mine owned by “Meghradzor” LLC, Kotayk Region at around 21:10 on 22 July. Because of the explosion Meghradzor Gold Company worker S. H., born in 1973, resident of Hrazdan town and Vardenis resident V.S. born in 1959 get wounded, as the official website Ministry of Emergency States informed. Reminder: on 12 December 2013 EcoLur made an enquiry to Nature Protection Ministry, which particularly said, “We also inform Nature Protection Ministry that closed development of Meghradzor mine has long been changed to opencast development. In this regard, we consider it necessary to carry out the examination of Meghradzor Gold Company documentation submitted for environmental expertise on changing development method of Meghradzor gold mine.
