3800 Illegally Constructed Buildings and Structures Below Permissible Mark for Site Development on Littoral Areas of Lake Sevan To Be Dismantled

The total number of illegal buildings built in the coastal parts of "Sevan" National Park, in the zone below the permissible construction mark, is about 3800 at the moment. After the visit of Environment Minister Romanos Petrosyan, who visited "Sevan" National Park on August 8, the dismantling and demolition of all those 3800 buildings was considered a priority. As a result of Romanos Petrosyan's visit, it was recorded that there are about 130 cases of illegal land acquisitions combined with voluntary constructions, 150 cases of state lease without state registration in the territory of "Sevan" National Park, i.e. in many parts of the shore of Lake Sevan.

In the medium term, it is planned to study the nature, lawfulness and compliance with the established procedure of about 1000 business entities operating on the shores of the lake for decades. This year, about 50 hectares out of around 270 hectares of littoral forest, which needed clearing, have been completely cleared at the moment.
