In 2019, the water quality monitoring of Lake Sevan will be carried out at the expense of the state budget. At the October 3 sitting, the Armenian government decided to allocate 6948.6 thousand drams from the state budget designed for the monitoring of the quality of atmospheric air for the monitoring of Sevan water quality. According to official information, this will enable to obtain additional 3120 indicators characterizing Lake Sevan water quality through scarce financing.

According to the governmental resolution of No. 13 of the Government of Republic of Armenia on 03.04.2014, the environmental monitoring of Lake Sevan was carried out within the frameworks of "Lake Sevan Trout Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Complex Development Program" in cooperation with the Institute of Hydroecology and Ichthyology of National Academy of Sciences of Republic of Armenia, with the financial support of "Trout Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Fund". But in 2019, the Sevan Trout Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Fund has not co-financed the monitoring of Lake Sevan water quality.

To date, Sevan Trout Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Fund has received 9 billion drams from the state for the implementation of "Lake Sevan Trout Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Complex Development Program". In 2011-2016, Lake Sevan water quality monitoring was carried out by the Environmental Monitoring and Information Center SNCO once a year with funding provided within the frames of Environmental Monitoring and Information Provision Services project.
