The Armenian Government headed by PM Hovik Abrahamyan discussed the performance report of Nature Protection Ministry for 2015. Nature Protection Minister Aramayis Grigoryan noted that as of 31 December 2015 the level of Lake Sevan accounted for 1900.19 meters, which is higher by 6 cm as compared with the indicator for the last year (1900.13 meters). 142.5 ha of area cleaning works were carried out in the frames of program on cleaning flooded shores of Lake Sevan from forest. The drafts of Southern reservoir and Ararat valley water basin management plans have been developed. Akhuryan water basin management plan, as well as Akhuryan and Metsamor river basin management plans are in process of development, which later will serve a basis for the development of Akhuryan water basin management plan. The PM focused much importance on the continuous and effective implementation of environmental programs. Hovik Abrahamyan drew Aramayis Grigoryan's attention to the problem with illegal tree felling and assigned him to enhance the control over this problem.
