Hydrometeorological Service of the Ministry for Emergency States forecasts that an increase in Lake Sevan level will be recorded by 25-30 cm by the end of 2016. '...Based on the weather forecasts and the river flow into Lake Sevan (the inflow of water through the rivers into Lake Sevan is expected to be 120-150% within the ranges of the standard), lake surface evaporation magnitudes, the water amount expected to be transferred to Lake Sevan through Arpa-Sevan aqueduct (120 million cum) and the water intake for irrigation purposes – 170 million cum (the second ten days of June are taken as the start of the water intake), as of 1 April 2016 it's expected to have an increase in Lake Sevan level by 55-60 cm and as of 31 December, the lake level is predicted to be within the ranges of 1900.44-1900.49m, which will make up +25...+30 cm as compared with 1 January 2016,' says the Service in the document it published.
