In 2016 'Lake Sevan Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Development' Foundation let out 921000 young endemic fish species. In 2017 the foundation is planning to let out around 1 million young fish into Lake Sevan, as 'Lake Sevan Reserve Recovery and Fish Breeding Development' Foundation Director Arshak Aghajanyan said in his telephone conversation with EcoLur. Reminder: starting from 2016 the government doesn’t allot any finds for the recovery of Sevan fish reserves in Lake Sevan. So far the budget annually has allotted 60 million AMD to let out 500,000 young fish into the lake. “Complex program for trout reserve recovery and fish breeding in Lake Sevan” plans to install 50 cage nets in 30 ha area in Lake Sevan by 2024 each of them with 1000tons of productivity and to grow 50,000 tons of endemic fish species and each year around 25% of the young fish from cage nets will be let out into Lake Sevan for the recovery of trout reserves.
