Early this year the new cleaning station for waste water in Martuni town, Gegharkounik Region, was put into service. In the frames of “Lake Sevan Environmental Program” such stations will be constructed in Gavar and Vardenis towns to reduced the environmental pollution in the lake basin. The stations will be put into service at full capacity this year in April. The maximum capacity for cleaning stations is designed up to 19000 square meters a day for Gavar Town and up to 9500 square meters for martini and Vardenis towns. About 12 million Euros has been totally spent for the construction of the stations. These towns also have waste pipes constructed with a total length of 52 km. This information has been circulated by the Territorial Administration Ministry of Armenia.
