Fishing and Crawfish Hunting Banned in Lake Sevan from 20 December

Starting from 20 December 2017 the fishing and crawfish hunting will be banned in Lake Sevan: RA Nature Protection Minister Artsvik Minasyan signed a relevant decree on 14 December 2017.

The decree says:

'1. Over the period of trout and whitefish spawning, to enhance the control in Lake Sevan from 20 December 2017 to 15 January 2018 to ensure the natural reproduction of the fish aimed at the preservation of the fish reserves and ban illegal fishing in Lake Sevan.
2. to Director of 'Sevan National Park' SNCO of RA Nature Protection Ministry:
By 19 December 19 to ensure the withdrawal of all fishing rods and nets, as well as swimming means out of Lake Sevan.'
