Activists and supporters of Teghout have circulated a statement about the meeting with President Serzh Sargsyan in the course of the election campaign on 30 April, “so as the President performed the obligations he has undertaken in proper manner, was logical in regard with the illegal development of Teghout copper and Molybdenum mine.” The statement particularly says, “When we lifted the posters with slogans in the support of Teghout which has no discrediting word, a group of people demanded to hide these posters. Then these posters were torn into parts in front of Serzh Sargsyan… We condemn violence in regard with Teghout support group civic initiative and resolutely declare that we will be persistent and the illegal development of Teghout mine will be stopped in shortest term possible.”
