Findings of Social Survey on Violation of Rights to Water in Hayanist Community

The dominant majority of the population in Hayanist community, Ararat Region, thinks that their right to water, as an exclusive right to health and life, has been violated: this is what the findings of the sociological survey carried out by “EcoLur” Informational NGO on 29 March showed. The residents showed the following violations: 1. Violation of the right to have drinking water of the quality and quantity relevant for people’s life and safety. 2. Violation of the right of not being able to deal with region-specific agriculture because of not having irrigation water of relevant quality and quantity. 3. Violation of people’s right to receive information about water sector. 4. Violation of the right to participation in decision –making in water sector. 5. Violation of contractual rights on irrigation water supply concluded with “Yerevan” WUC.
